World Students Day
World Students Day October 15, 2018
World Students’ Day is observed on 15th of October every year to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. His favorite job was teaching that’s how he wanted the world to remember him. He loved students a lot. Hence it is important to remember a person who spent his life for the betterment of the nation, society and students.
Students of ICFAI Education School, The ICFAI University, Dehradun celebrated World Students’ Day with the students of Govt. Middle School, Selaqui, in the form of poster making, skit and speech. Prof. Sarita Negi informed the students of Govt. school regarding the reason behind celebrating the day. Students were enthusiastic to know more about A.P.J Abdul Kalam and his contribution. Himanshu Joshi focused on childhood stories, economic background and professional front of the great man. He also added five important things said by Dr. Kalam which should be followed by every individual i.e. “I am the best”, “I can do it”, “God is always with me”, “I am the winner”, “Today is my day”. Students repeated the lines just after him and the hysteria among them was appreciable.
Followed by which, B.Ed students presented a skit on the life of students to teach them a lesson. The skit included various lessons of punctuality, obedience, personal hygiene and sanitation, moral values etc. The skit was enjoyed by the Middle school students and as a result of which they came forward to showcase their talent in the form of a skit on “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.” Their performance was highly motivated by all of us. Sweets were distributed to students at the end. It was a great experience being amidst energetic students.
The participants of B.Ed were Debarati, Himanshu, Sangita, Sapna, Sunil, Tenzin, Tanisha, Merlin and Shobha. The program was conducted by Prof. Sarita Negi and assisted by Ms. Atulya Verma.
