The ICFAI University, Dehradun was established in 2003 by an Act of State Legislature of Uttarakhand State (Uttarakhand Act 16 of 2003) vide Gazette Notification No. 908/Higher Education/2003-03(16) 2003, dated 23rd September 2003.

University Grants Commission (UGC)

The ICFAI University, Dehradun has been notified by the UGC, under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 vide Notification No: F.9-26/2003(CPP-I) dated 22nd July 2005.

The University is competent to award the Degrees, as specified by the UGC under Section 22 of the UGC Act ,1956.”

Bar Council of India (BCI)

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has granted approval of affiliation for imparting Law programs. Letters received from Bar Council of India (BCI)

AICTE

As per law, Universities do not require AICTE approval. Only institutions which are affiliated to Universities require AICTE approval. As The ICFAI University, Dehradun is a Bonafide University established by a State Act, it does not require AICTE approval.This standing of law is notified by the Supreme Court of India in the case of Bharathidasan University v/s AICTE. National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)

is an Indian government body set up under the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 (#73, 1993) in 1995 is to formally oversee standards, procedures and processes in the Indian education system. ICFAI Education School of ICFAI University, Dehradun has been approved by NCTE.

The Association of Common Wealth Universities, UK

The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) is established in 1913, the ACU is the oldest inter-university network in the world. ACU combines the expertise and reputation of over ninety years of experience with new and innovative programs designed to meet the needs of universities in the 21st century. Around 500 members are spread across five continents. The ICFAI University, Dehradun is a member of the ACU.

Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

The Inter-University Board acquired a legal status with its registration in 1967 as a Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. In 1973, it assumed its present name: The Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The membership includes traditional universities, open universities, professional universities, Institutes of National Importance and deemed-to-be universities In addition, there is a provision of granting of Associate Membership to universities of neighboring countries.
The ICFAI University, Dehradun is a member of AIU.

The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)

ICFAI School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, a new constitute school of The ICFAI University, Dehradun, offering Bachelor of Pharmacy Program (B.Pharm). Law Association for Asia and the Pacific, Australia (LAWASIA)

LAWASIA is a network of lawyers and representatives of the regions law societies and bar associations. It is a non-governmental, non-political association. The LAWASIA promotes the administration of justice and the rule of law, the protection of human rights, the fostering of international understanding and good will with active programs aimed at assisting lawyers and others to increase and update their legal knowledge of the region. Faculty of Law, Dehradun is a corporate member of LAWASIA.

National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is an organisation that assesses and accredits higher education Institutions (HEIs) in India. The ICFAI University, Dehradun is accredited by NAAC.
