An Institutional Training Program
An Institutional Training Program Feb 20, 2020
ICFAI University, Dehradun: An Institutional Training Program was organised in the ICFAI University, Dehradun about “Energy Efficiency and Conservation” on 20-02-2020. This was a seminar which was conducted by Mr. Kamlesh Kumar Singh, who is a resource person from the Petroleum Conservation and Research Association of India (PCRA). The speaker wanted to shed some light about sustainable development and efficient use of energy and its conservation with primary focus to bring a change in the thinking pattern of the teeming engineers and administrators for the future generation. Many analogies were shown to the students to make them realise and analyse to further rationalise the use of electric energy which are generated from the fossil fuels which themselves are created in almost millions of years. The students were taught a fact that energy conservation depends upon our behaviour and no matter whatever government policies are developed the final conservations are in the hands of the user only. Thinking in the point of view of the future industrial scientists and engineers, he also delegated the ways through which modern technologies like Machine Learning and Internet of Things could be used in this field. He stated a fact that raised a sense of worriness among the audience, “India has less than 1% of world oil and gas reserves and we are 17% of the World populations.” which means at sometime there will be a dire requirement of energy and we will have to wait for it. This fact made everyone concerned to conserve the wealth left to us by our ancestors which is invaluable but not infinite.
The students from ITS as well as IBS(BBA only) joined this seminar and learnt a lot from the eminent speaker.
