The ICFAI University, Dehradun Organized Convocation 2019 in the presence of Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Smt. Baby Rani Maurya

The ICFAI University, Dehradun organized its convocation on 26/07/2019. The Hon’ble governor of Uttarakhand Smt. Baby Rani Maurya was the chief guest at this occasion. Addressing the 6th Convocation of The ICFAI University, Dehradun, The Governor Said- “Dear Students, I congratulate you for your excellence in academic performance. On this occasion I would like to share with you that you should preserve the environment and empower people by educating them about their rights. It is a matter of pride for us that the students of this university have been organizing legal aid camps to educate and empower people, from economically weaker sections of the society, about their rights. It is because of this empowerment through education that we can fight evils like casteism, gender inequality and female foeticide. Today India is one of the fastest growing economies of the world but it is unfortunate that we have to fight such evils. Environment conservation is also one of the challenges faced by us. I would like to ask the students for conserving the environment by keeping air & water pollution in check and by planting trees. I would also like to ask the teachers and professors to keep updating themselves about the new developments in their respective fields and to keep updating their knowledge. It is the teachers & professors who mould a student to become a successful individual and a responsible citizen with high morals. Therefore the role of a teacher is most important in shaping a student’s life. I congratulate the students once again on completion of their courses and receiving degrees and medals”.

The Chancellor of the ICFAI University, Dehradun Dr. M Ramachandran , while addressing the Chief Guest, medal holders and students Said “Our aim is to establish a university which is the first choice of students, employees and society and the world is famous for higher education and research. The education system of the university should be consistent with social needs. We are moving forward towards our mission with full intention and passion. The teaching system adopted by the University is completely innovative and new, emphasizing the development of karma, sadhana and fundamental ethical elements in the students.Students of this University have participated wholeheartedly in various Nation-making initiatives of our government, including the Clean Ganges Campaign, Plantation Campaign and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Our students have been encouraged to experimentally learn through clean India Summer internship. These social programs will be further operated so that the students can be all over the development and the students will make their full contribution in social development.I have a special request from my students that you make the best use of your acquired knowledge and skills and transform your world and the world of people around you. All students should give full support to the development of the country and establish high standards in the society”.

The Vice Chancellor Dr. Pawan K Agarwal Said “This day is a day of great pleasure and achievement for the University, and it is an important milestone in the lives of all our 237 students, who are being provided various degrees today. Including 105 BBA-LLB (H) students, 84 MBA students, 28 B.Tech students, students of 10 LLB, students of 5 LLM, 2 M.Tech students, 2 B.Ed students and 1 PhD (Management) ) Student. In order to develop the students' managerial skills, sports and cultural programs are organized by various faculties in the world. With such events, students get the opportunity to display their talent and this brings new energy and enthusiasm. By which, students get the concentration in their work.From time to time, guest lectures are also organized by academic and industry experts. It enhances the confidence of students and provides new direction to their thinking. Dear Students, Today is your first step towards a bright future. We hope that you will illuminate the world with its glorious accomplishments and give us glory as an alumni. The presence of all of you at the Convocation function is the source of encouragement for us”.

237 Students of the University,including the medal holders, were awarded degrees at this ocassion.Vivek Rana from MBA, Abhishek Sharma from LLB, Mohammed Sad Alam from BBA LL.B (Hons.) and Rajat Kumar Chahar from MBA received gold medals. Uma Shahi from MBA, Trayteenu Singh from LL.B, Mohammad Raza from B. Tech, and Shalu Goyal from BBA LL.B (Hons) received Silver Medals. Monica Chhabra from BBA LL.B (Hons.) , Heena Sharma from MBA, Raghu Chahar from B.Tech and Deekhsha from MBA received bronze medals at the Convocation of the ICFAI University, Dehradun.

The ICFAI University, Dehradun, was established under the ICFAI University Act 2003 (Act No.16 of 2003) passed by the Uttaranchal Legislative Assembly and assented to by the Governor on July 08, 2003 .Since its establishment, The ICFAI University Dehradun has been providing education in the field of Law, Technology, Management and Education. The University has a vision to become a center of excellence.
