The Ph.D. Program is designed for candidates interested in both teaching and research. The key objective of the Program is to develop researchers and scholars in various disciplines of Management, Science & Technology, Law and Education. The program fosters their academic and research interest in their respective areas. This helps the students, experienced executives and faculty members to develop quality skills in teaching, research and consultancy.

The Ph. D program is rigorous and interdisciplinary. It is regularly updated, benchmarking the academic delivery against the best standards. The intensity of the program demands energy and zeal in pursuit of greater insight into the chosen topic and a willingness to master all essential components of academic research.

Duration: Minimum: 3 years. Maximum: 6 years.

Eligibility:
For Full-time Ph.D Program:
Pass in two-year postgraduate degree or equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.

For Part-time Ph.D Program:
Working Professionals with pass in two-year postgraduate degree or equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Admission Procedure:

Admission to the Ph.D. Program (both formats) is based on Academic Record, Performance in the Admission Test and Interview. Candidates who are qualified in NET/SLET/ GATE (2016-17) are exempted from the Admission Test.

Admission Test will consist of two papers, each comprising 50 objective type questions.

Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper-II shall consist of questions based on the discipline selected by the candidate.

Program Structure for Ph.D Program:

Phase I - Course Work:

Year I
SEMESTER - I SEMESTER - II
  • Research Methodology I (3 Credits)
  • One paper related to the core of discipline (3 Credits)
  • Research Methodology II (3 Credits)
  • Paper related to the area in which the candidate will work for Ph.D. (3 Credits)
  • Literature review in the relevant field and seminar on the same (3 Credits)


Note: Candidate admitted to the part-time ph. D. Program may complex the prescribed course work over a period of two years.

Phase II - Preparation of Research Proposal (Second Year)
Phase III - Thesis Writing, Pre-Submission Seminar and Submission (Third Year Onwards)

Program Guidelines

Publication Requirement:
Every student should publish atleast two research papers in peer reviewed journals / transact his/her area of doctoral research in a refereed journal before submission of the thesis and produce evidence of the same in the form of acceptance letter or the reprint which is to be appended.

Submission of the Ph.D. Thesis and Evaluation
After submission of the Ph.D. thesis in the prescribed format, it will be evaluated by a panel of examiners. If the panel is satisfied with the thesis, Viva-Voce examination will be conducted and the student’s performance is graded accordingly.

Award of Degree

All the students who would complete the program successfully will be awarded Ph.D. degree from the University, subject to the University regulations.

On the successful completion of the Ph. D program of a student, the University will submit a soft copy of his/her Ph. D thesis to the INFLIBNET, for hosting the same so as to make it accessible to all Institutions/Universities.
